A/Prof LE THI ANH THU, MD, PhD, is President of Ho Chi Minh City Infection Control Society (HICS) Vietnam and Chief of Infection Control Department, Cho Ray Hospital. She is also Chief of Department of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Lecturer for University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City.

 

A/Prof THU received Diploma of Medicine from Hue University of Medicine, Viet Nam in 1988; Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology of University Bordeau in 2000, and received PhD degree in Clinical Epidemiology, sepicalized in communicable diseases in University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia in 2005 and assigned as Associated Professor in 2011.

She has experiences of working as Infectious diseases specialist for 10 years and is working as hospital epidemiologist, infection control consultant for more than 15 years for many hospitals in Vietnam. She is nominated as Board Member of Infection Control Committee of Ministry of Health of Viet Nam, participating in the National Writing Committee to develop guidelines and policies in infection control for the Ministry of Health.  She has been chief investigator for many important researches funded by the Vietnamese Government and WHO Small Grant Patient Safety. Her recent researches are mainly in infection control, hospital epidemiology, risk and patient safety. She is the author of more than 60 publications and books and presented in more than 30 international conferences.
