Dr Eremin has joined the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team at the World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland in 2010. He has been working for WHO since 2006, starting as the Coordinator of the Avian and Pandemic Influenza Project in the WHO Office in the Russian Federation, and then serving as a Technical Officer, International Health Regulations (IHR). Since 2011, Dr Eremin coordinates the WHO Global Infection Prevention and Control Network (GIPCN).

Before joining WHO, Dr Eremin headed Sub-faculty on Continuing Education in Epidemiology and Parasitology, and held a position of Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology at the St. Petersburg State Medical Academy named after I.I. Mechnikov, Russian Federation. In addition to his university appointment, he coordinated national and international infection control projects in the Russian Federation, Central Asia, the Baltic Sea Region, and several other countries.

Dr Eremin has more than 20 years of experience in the field of infection control and healthcare epidemiology.
